Marie Dorothy Lang, 91, Fargo, ND, passed away Monday, July 8 at Bethany Retirement Living. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Monday, July 15, 2024, at Zion Lutheran Church, Bismarck with Rev. Thomas Marcis Jr. officiating. Inurnment will be in Mandan Union Cemetery. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place.
Marie was born May 7, 1933, in New Salem, ND to Walter and Pauline (Kessler) Reiner. She was raised in Zap where she attended school until she married Ardel Lang on October 2, 1951. They farmed in Zap until moving to Minot in 1965. Marie worked as a cook at Minot State University for 15 years and then operated an in-home daycare for 16 years. In retirement, they became snowbirds in Apache Junction, AZ, eventually moving there year-round. In 2015 they moved back to ND, settling in Mandan, and after the death of her husband she moved to Fargo in 2019 to be close to her daughter. Marie was devoted to her faith and active in the Lutheran churches she attended. She also loved to quilt and crochet for family and friends.
She is survived by one daughter, Cheryl (Kevin) Larson, Fargo; three sons, Malcom Lang, Eloy, AZ, Dan (Linda) Lang, Carson City, NV, and Dallas (Rene) Lang, Minot; four grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Ardel; two sisters, Loretta Mann and Arlene Maas; a brother, Norbert Reiner; a grandson, Tyler Larson; and a great-grandson, Walker Lang.
