Dorothy Offermann, 96, of Minot, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2024, at a Minot assisted living center.

Born on a homestead farm in Deering, North Dakota, Dorothy moved to Minot to complete high school and began her career early, working to support herself. She was a dedicated bookkeeper for Kemper Construction, Farstad Oil, and Offermann Construction for many years. In 1987, Dorothy and her husband, Clarence Offermann, retired to southern California after a successful career. There, she became deeply involved with the Food Share organization, tirelessly assisting her community well into her 90s.

Dorothy cherished her social activities, including playing cards with her Minot bridge club until the age of 94. She was also an enthusiastic member of a Minot square dance group and participated in exercise classes. Her passions extended to sewing and homemaking, having built four homes in the Minot area.

Above all, Dorothy was known for her strength of character and selflessness. Despite facing early challenges as a young single mother, she persevered, eventually marrying Clarence and enjoying 60 years of marriage together. She was a pillar of support and inspiration to her friends and family, always willing to lend a helping hand.

Dorothy is survived by her sons: Danny and Larry (Paula) Johnson, Rick (Jean) Offermann, stepdaughter Linda Alexander, eight grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence, her parents, John and Anna (Hoppmann) Behrens, and her brothers, Walt and Harry Behrens.

A family graveside service will be held at Rosehill Memorial Park on July 15th at 11:00 am.
