Ruth Koppang passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024, in Velva, ND. Ruth was born in Crosby, ND on August 11, 1924, to Thor and Agnes Berg. She was confirmed at Glenwood Lutheran Church. Ruth married Clovis Ralph in 1944, and they made their home in Crosby where they raised their son and daughter, Richard and Beverly. Ruth later married Marvin Koppang in 1989.

After spending a few years working for Northwest Airlines in Minnesota and Ohio, Ruth moved back to Crosby and became the longtime librarian for the Divide County Library. She was very active in her community including the Crosby Senior Citizens Club, Divide County Historical Society and Concordia Lutheran Church. Ruth and Marvin loved to travel and enjoyed their retirement years traveling the continent in their RV and playing cards and visiting with friends.

She is preceded in death by husbands Marvin Koppang and Clovis Ralph, parents Thor and Agnes Berg, son-in-law I.J. Jacobson and grandson Erik Jacobson. Survived by son Richard (Yvonne) Ralph, daughter Beverly Jacobson, grandchildren Peter Ralph, Brandon (Nikki) Ralph, Krista (Matt) Freed, Trina Johnson, Lara (Terry) Smoley, Jessa (Tom) Rafferty and 16 great-grandchildren.

A private graveside service will be held on August 9, 2024, at the Concordia Cemetery in Crosby, ND.
