Laurie Vibeto, 76, Minot, ND, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Prairie View Inn, Towner, ND.
Laurie was born September 21, 1947, the daughter of Walter and Laura (Clark) Zluticky, in Breckenridge, MN. She was raised and educated in Breckenridge.
Laurie met Gary Vibeto in 1967 in Breckenridge, MN, when he was transferred there while working on the railroad. Gary worked on the train and occasionally worked with Laurie’s father, which had a lot to do with Gary and Laurie getting together.
Laurie married Gary on May 3, 1969. While Gary was still employed with the railroad, Laurie worked for Bell Telephone. During her time with Bell Telephone, she was promoted to management. The couple moved to Fargo. While living in Fargo they were blessed with their son, Steven in 1972. Not long after the birth of their son, they moved to Minot, where they purchased a house in a little neighborhood west of Minot, where Laurie made three very good friends, Vicki, Ida and Doneta. Vicki continues to be her very good friend.
She was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church and Classic Car Club. She enjoyed gardening and watching birds. Her love of fishing with her father growing up continued as an adult and she fished with her son. She had a love for music and dancing with Gary.
Laurie was very excited to be a grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with her grandson, Keene.
Laurie loved children. She would talk to children wherever she went; they brought her so much joy. Laurie was a loving, kind, and generous person. She will be greatly missed.

Her loving family includes: husband of 55 years, Gary Vibeto; son, Steven (Marcia) Vibeto; grandchildren, Keene; sister, Jill (John) Walkup; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins She was preceded in death by her parents; brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Sharon Zluticky, and her parents-in-law.
Memorial Service: Monday, July 1, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Visitation: One hour prior to the service.
Inurnment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
Memorials: are preferred to Alzheimer’s Association.
