Joanne Cecilia Theilen, 91, died Saturday June 15, 2024, of natural causes, at Trinity Nursing Home.

She was born June 26, 1932, in Milbank, S.D. to Edward and Ethel Giessinger. She was raised and educated in Watertown, graduating from Watertown High School in 1951.

Joanne went on to play professionally on her B-3 Hammond organ. She would play for various events. She had tremendous love for her music, dogs, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

She married Thomas Garfield Theilen Jr in Fargo, ND on June 2, 1953. They made their home in Minot, ND.

She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

Her loving family includes:three boys, Thomas Garfield (Trish) Theilen III, Terry Thielen, and Anthony (Merry) Theilen; grandchildren, Jenna (Chris) Theilen, Jessica (Aaron) Kilbourn, Jordan (Kylee) Theilen, Jaron (Ashley) Theilen, Thomas Theilen IV Grace Theilen, Katie Theilen, and Isaiah Theilen; great-grandchildren, Cale, AJ, Bailey, Greyson, Claire, Cambria, Case, Ranger, Ramsey, and Gavin; siblings, Marlow Giessinger, Neil (Jackie) Giessinger, David (Dianne) Giessinger, Terri Butler; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, and brother, Wayne Giessinger.

Memorial Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, June 20, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Memorials: are preferred to Souris Valley Animal Shelter.
