Jalene Nordstrom, our loving mom and grandma, 87, Minot, ND, passed away Friday, May 31st, 2024, at Sunset Drive Prospera, Mandan, with her daughter by her side.

Jalene Alice Herrick was born on February 13, 1937 in Bowesmont, ND to Donald and Pauline Herrick. She was raised and educated in Detroit Lakes, Minnesota and graduated in 1955.

Jalene married Larry Nordstrom on July 10, 1955 at First Lutheran Church in Detroit Lakes. Following their marriage they lived in St. Cloud, Fargo, and settled in Minot in 1960. Jalene and Larry were blessed with three children, Jeanne, Michael, and Linda.

Her loving family includes: daughter, Jeanne (Bill) Hunt, Bismarck, ND; son, Michael (Cathy) Nordstrom, Rochester, MN;

grandchildren, Ryan (Shelby) Hunt, West Fargo, ND, and Will (Karen) Nordstrom, Rochester, MN; great-grandchild baby boy Hunt due July 2024; along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Larry, daughter Linda Bray, granddaughters Paula and Brenda Bray, brothers Donald (Barb) Herrick and Gary (Donna) Herrick and baby sister Diane Herrick.

Special thank you to the very caring and compassionate health care workers at Sanford Hospital, Sunset Drive Prospera and everyone who shared in her life.

Funeral: Tuesday, June 11, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at First Lutheran Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Cemetery, Minot, ND.

Visitation: One hour prior to service
