Sharon Ronning

Sharon Ronning, 82, Bismarck, formerly of Minot, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Sanford Hospital in Bismarck.

Sharon was born on September 8, 1941 in Grafton, ND to Gordon and Helen (Brown) Stavert. When she was 5 years old, the family moved to Fortuna, ND where her father was employed. After she finished the first grade, the family moved to Glenburn, ND where they stayed until moving to Minot in 1955.

Sharon was united in marriage with Robert Ronning in Minot. In 1970, the couple welcomed a son, Stephen, and in 1972 a daughter, Keri.

Sharon worked for Morgan and Oswood and Northern States Power in Minot, and Zora Inc. in Mandan, ND.

Sharon was full of life and energy. No one was ever a stranger when they were around her. She was always ready for a conversation or to share a laugh. As a mother Sharon was her children’s biggest cheerleader and provided unconditional love and support.

Sharon is survived by her husband, Robert Ronning, Bismarck; son, Stephen (Janae) Ronning, Minot; daughter, Keri (Randy) Flint, Andover, MN; sister, Judith (James) Lund, Shoreview, MN; grandchildren, Aiden and Chase Flint and Sabryn and Sienna Ronning; and numerous other extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in Minot with visitation starting an hour prior.
