Mabel peacefully passed away at the age of 96 on Tuesday, April 23, 2024 at Trinity Hospital surrounded by the love of her family. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and enduring love that will forever be cherished by all who knew her.

Born on April 8, 1928 to John and Irene Wilson in Glenburn, Mabel lived a life filled with compassion, joy, and grace. Throughout her 96 years, she touched the lives of countless individuals with her gentle spirit and unwavering strength. She was a pillar of strength for her family and a source of wisdom for her friends.

Mabel attended school at Waterford #4 Elementary and graduated from Minot High School in 1945. Mabel married Lloyd Ike in Sydney, Montana on September 13, 1945. They made their home on the family farm in Plaza, North Dakota with their 3 daughters, Sandra, Gail and Wendy. In 2006, after 60 years of marriage Lloyd passed away and she made her new home in Minot.

Mabel was a member of Wabek Lutheran Church. After it closed, she attended Plaza Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Wabek Ladies Aide, a council member of her church, a Sunday school teacher and the caretaker of her mother in law, Minnie Ike for 13 1/2 years.

Mabel had a passion for traveling with her good friend Irene Lynne and visited every state, as well as Australia, New Zealand and Mexico. Whether she was tending to her garden, sewing, quilting or simply spending quality time with her loved ones, and friends she radiated a sense of warmth and happiness that was contagious to all around her.

Though she may be gone from our sight, Mabel will forever remain in our hearts, where her spirit will continue to live on. May her memory be a blessing, and may we honor her legacy by living our lives with the same faith, love and grace that she so beautifully exemplified.

Mabel is survived by: children: Sandra (Verle) Anderson, Wendy (Lydell) Wohlk; grandchildren: Debra (Dan) Ferguson, Mike (Tammy) Rouse, Heather (Shawn) Schoenborn, Heidi (Brian) Walsh, Holly (Ryan) Dewitz, Kristi (Jason) Reinke; 29 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents John and Irene, husband Lloyd, daughter Gail, sons-in-law Joey and Wayne, grandson Nathan, brothers and sisters, James, Albert, Robert, Myrtle, John, Lois and two infant brothers.

Funeral: Monday, April 29, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Plaza First Lutheran Church, Plaza.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Cemetery, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Prayer Service: Sunday at 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials: are preferred to Plaza First Lutheran Church (506 Main St, Plaza, ND 58771)
