Ione K. Lang——85, Minot, passed away on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 in a Minot hospital with her daughters by her side.

Ione Katherine Pellett was born on April 10, 1939, a daughter of Loren and Anna (Stenehjem) Pellett in Arnegard, ND. She was raised and educated in the Anamoose area, graduating from Anamoose High School in 1957.

Ione was united in marriage to Myron G. Lang on August 23, 1958 at St. Martin’s Lutheran Church in Anamoose, ND. They made their home in Minot, where Ione attended Minot State Business College for a Jr. Accounting Degree. Ione started a life-long career in Customer Service at several places including All American Trophies, which they owned for 5 years. She retired at SRT in 2001. During her retirement years, she also worked at the former Minot Country Club at the 7-11, where she made many friendships and enjoyed it very much. Myron passed away on April 9, 2016. She continued to live in Minot.

Ione was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She was an active member of the church, being a Sunday School Teacher, a Council member, and a manager of Food, Faith, and Family for several years. She belonged to several bridge groups and liked to play duplicate bridge with her dear friend Mary Hasse. She was also an extremely active member of the Facebook Community.

She enjoyed bridge, sewing and watching her Great Grandchildren grow. She rarely missed anything that her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were involved in and was always their biggest cheerleader. She also enjoyed giving her opinions even without being asked. Lord knows she lost her filter long ago, if she ever had one – and that is why we all loved her.

Two daughters Kimberly (Todd) Lee, Pamela (Andy) Shelkey; James Alexander; Grandchildren Ryan Alexander (Nikki Fernando) , Kaylee Hefter (Brett), Nicklaus Lee (Amber Burkey), Chelsea Mihalick (Eli); Great-Grandchildren Cooper, Aspyn, Jack, Aida, Anthony, and Salem; Sister: Cherraine Weltz; Sisters-in-law: Jeanette Lang, Marlys Nuttman, Janice Pellett; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and many friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Myron, her parents, parents’ in-law Gust and Albena Lang, Sisters Leona and husband Bob Brower, Bonnie and husband Dan Heisler, Brother Loren (Ove) Pellett, Sister in-law Arvadell Zimmermen, Brother in-law Ervin Weltz, and Great-grandchildren Hogan and Bryson Mihalick.

Visitation: There will be no reviewal as cremation has taken place, however, friends may sign a guest register on Thursday, May 2, 2024 from 4 until 6 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Celebration of Ione’s life: Friday, May 3, 2024 at 11 am at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot. The service will be livestreamed and may be viewed at the link provided on her web page at www.thompsonlarson.com.

Burial: A private family committal service will take place.
