Edward E. Werner, 86, Minot, died Friday, April 6, 2024 in a Minot hospital, with his loving family by his side.

Edward Elmer Werner was born on August 20, 1937, a son of Elmer and Helen (Dendinger) Werner in Minot, ND. He was raised and worked on the family farm and attended Eureka School and then Minot Model High School, graduating in 1955. Edward furthered his education by attending Minot State Teachers College.

Edward enlisted into the United States Army National Guard on October 15, 1961. He proudly served his country, until his honorable discharged in 1966.

On December 27, 1961, Edward was united in marriage to Deanna Lagge at the First Presbyterian Church, Minot. They made their home in Minot, where Edward worked as service manager for Voeller’s Furniture and Conlin’s Furniture Store, retiring in 2012.

Ed enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, dancing, playing Bingo, and the outdoors Fishing, camping, and hunting. Edward loved spending time with his family, especially attending his grandchildren’s activities.

Ed is survived by:

Wife of 62 years, Deanna; children: Jolene Montgomery, Terryl (Don) Pfeifer, Greg (Amy) Werner; grandchildren; Kaylee Werner, Ava Werner, Tristin Kirk, Noah Kirk, Josh Pfeifer, Jared Pfeifer, Stephanie (Casey) Silverton, Michael Montgomery, Wendy (Tyler) Wilkening: great-grandchildren: Lauren Silverthorn, Alex Silverthorn, Welsey Sims, Braxton Wilkening and Kinslie Wilkening; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, son Brent, grandson Michael, and a brother Kenneth.

Visitation: Tuesday, April 9, 2024 one hour prior to the service in Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Funeral Service: Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 10:30 am in Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
