Phillip D. Evanoff, 92, life-long resident of Des Lacs, ND, passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 in a Minot hospital.

Phillip Demetre Evanoff was born on November 17, 1931, a son of James and Harriet (Bland) Evanoff in Berthold, ND. He was raised and educated in Des Lacs, where he graduated from Des Lacs High School in 1950.

On April 30, 1952, Phillip was united in marriage to Joan Larson, prior to his deployment to Korea with the United States Army. Upon his discharge, the couple made their home in Des Lacs, ND where they raised their three children Todd, Tracy and James. Phillip also worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad, where he retired in 1994, following 40 years of service. Joan passed away August 25, 2022. He continued to live in Des Lacs.

Phillip was a member of the Des Lacs United Methodist church. He enjoyed spending time with and was very proud of his family, especially his grandchildren. Phillip was a loving husband for over 70 years, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa, and friend and will be deeply missed.

Phillip is survived by:

Children Todd (JayLeanne) Evanoff, Tracy (Greg) Hess, James (Nikki) Evanoff; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren: one brother Larry (Roslie) Evanoff; several cousins also survive.

Phillip was preceded in death by his parents, wife of 70 years Joan, a brother Romaine Evanoff, sisters Pat Leckman and Donna Solem.

Visitation: There will be no reviewal as cremation has taken place, however, friends may sign a guest register on Monday, March 25, 2024 one hour prior to the service at the church.

Celebration of Life: Monday, March 25, 2024 at 2 pm in the Des Lacs United Methodist Church, Des Lacs, ND

Burial: A private family burial will take place
