Minot

Elizabeth Anne McClain was born in St. Paul, Minnesota, on June 26th, 1959, to Reverend Charles and Raenell McClain. She passed peacefully into the arms of her Savior on March 22, 2024, in the comfort of her home.

Elizabeth spent most of her childhood in Sawyer, ND, where her father pastored a small Baptist church, and her mother played the piano. Elizabeth started piano lessons very young and excelled in that area of her life. She earned the nickname, âSamã as a high school student when her peers would say, âPlay it again, Sam!ã

In the fall of 1980, Elizabeth was working full-time at the Piggly Wiggly when she was introduced to Dennis Roberts by a mutual friend. Exactly one year after they started dating, they were married, on February 27th, 1982. Ten months later they welcomed their first child into the world, and then another six children over the next 15 years.

She was very involved in a number of musical activities over many decades. She was the church pianist/organist for Immanuel Baptist Church for many years. She also accompanied countless school concerts and competitions.

Elizabeth enjoyed spending time with her family more than anything else. She drove all around the state, and beyond, to support all her seven children and nine grandchildren. She loved watching all of them play sports or participate in bands, choirs, orchestras, and musicals, or to simply spend quality time with them. Her greatest pride and joy were her children, and their growing lives and families.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Reverend Charles âChuckã McClain, Raenell (Lentz) McClain; Grandparents: Charles âCliffã McClain, Helga (Mowinkle) McClain, Aunt Shirley McClain.

Her memory will be cherished by her husband of 42 years: Dennis Roberts; her children: Daniel (Kami) Roberts in Minot, ND, Aaron Roberts in Velva, ND, Sarah (Josh) Dvirnak in Killdeer, ND, Elise (Jim) Vannett in Minot, ND, Matthew Roberts in Minot, ND, Amy (Jacob) Knudsvig-Partida in Bismarck, ND, and Jesse Roberts (Paige McCrory) in Minot, ND; her grandchildren: Kohlee (15), McClain (12), David (12), Lucy (9), Danielle (7), Isaiah (6), Michael (4), Max (3), and Asher (10 months).

Funeral: Saturday, March 30, 2024, at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot, ND.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Friday from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Immanuel Baptist Church, Minot, ND.
