Tennis Seivert, 80, of West Fargo, ND, died Thursday, February 22, 2024, at his home.

Tennis Eldan Seivert was born to R. Henry and Elda Seivert of Egeland, ND. He lived in Egeland from birth until 1957, when he and his family moved to Cando, ND. Tennis was baptized in Egeland and confirmed in Cando. While living in Cando, he attended Cando Public Schools, where he was very active in school activities, especially band, choir, and football. He received many awards in band, being a very excellent percussionist.

After graduation, he attended Dunwoody Industrial Institute in Minneapolis, MN, graduating in April of 1963 with an Associate Degree in Architectural Drafting and Estimating. After graduation, he moved to Jamestown, ND, to begin working for CH Carpenter Lumber Yard, as an estimator and drafter. In 1963, he also joined the Jamestown ND Army National Guard, serving from 1964-1970.

On June 19, 1965, he married Irene D. Carlson at the Cando Lutheran Church in Cando, ND. They were married for 58 years. After their marriage, they lived in Jamestown, then moved back to Cando in 1969, where Tennis worked as Great Plains Supply assistant manager until 1971, when he and his family moved to Leeds, ND, where he served as Great Plains Supply manager for 10 years. In 1981, Tennis and Irene purchased the Kenway Motel in Minot, ND, owning and operating it until 1987, when Tennis returned to the lumber business as project manager for Great Plains Supply in Minot. In 1991, he began working as a salesman for the Vernon Company, a specialty and advertising company, and continued working for them after moving to West Fargo in 2011. He retired in 2017, after a total of 25 years with the Vernon Company.

Tennis is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, 2 children Lisa (Brad) Lysne, Minot, and Bradley (Pamala) Seivert of Fargo, six grandchildren Kristen (Josh Robinson, Michaela (Joel) Mathiesen, Braden Lysne, Joshua (Jazmin) Seivert, Justin (Lynnea) Seivert, Jordyn Seivert, eleven great-grandchildren Caleb, Sloane, Luka, Bennett, Leif, Lana, Harlow, Emry, Rhett, Gavin, Livia, many nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws.

He was preceded in death by his parents, R. Henry and Elda Seivert, and siblings Dick Seivert, Barbara (Gerry) Peterson and Marji Carlson.

Funeral service will be Saturday, March 2, 2024, at 10:30 AM with visitation starting at 9:30 AM, all at Olivet Lutheran Church, Fargo. Burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 1:00 PM.
