Michaela Wible, 65, Velva, ND, passed away Sunday, February 18, 2024, in her home.

Michaela Edith Hystad was born December 21, 1958 to Milner and Ingrid (Wagner) Hystad in Germany. She went to school in Germany until the family moved back to the states before eventually settling in Velva, North Dakota in 1969. She graduated from Velva High School in 1977. After graduation she moved to Minot.

In 1982 she entered motherhood with the arrival of Allison McKinsey. The two of them spent countless hours with Michaela’s father and grandparents. In 1988, she met the love of her life, Don Wible. Michaela and Don were married in June of 1991 in Reno, Nevada.

In 1990, Michaela graduated from Minot State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Criminal Justice.

In 1992, the couple welcomed their son, Garrett Michael Wayne into the world and shortly after in 1993, they welcomed their daughter, Leah Maren.

The family lived in various locations over the years including Velva, Bottineau, and Billings, MT until they moved back to Velva where they made their forever home.

Michaela spent many years teaching pre-school and working in childcare. Most recently working beside her daughter, Allison.

She had a deep love for all the children she has worked with over the years. They all became family. If you ever met Michaela, you were automatically considered a forever friend and/or family and you definitely knew that she was a die-hard Kansas City Chiefs fan. She was also a member of Oak Valley Lutheran Church.

Her loving family includes:

Husband, Don Wible II; children, Allison (Bryce) Gutknecht, Velva, Garrett (Sage) Wible,Westhope and Leah (Rachel) Carlson, Forest Park, IL; grandchildren, Jersey, Berkley, Jensen and Callan; brother, Milner (Nancy) Hystad, Pine City, MN; sisters, Maria Mack, Renie Sauvageau, Marlein (David) Aaseth, Nichole Jensen, Karla (Vernon) Boehm; in-laws, Tom (Angela) Wible, Debbie (Mark) Laursen, Kathy (Roger) Gonzalez; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Michaela was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Blaine Mack.

Visitation: Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 5-7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Velva.

Funeral Service: Friday, February 23, 2024 at 11 a.m. at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.

Interment: North Prairie Lutheran Cemetery, Velva.
