Faye Sharp, 94, Minot, died Wednesday, January 17, 2024, in a Minot care facility.

Faye Beryl Becker was born on October 25, 1929 in Des Lacs, ND to Walter and Esther (Spicher) Becker. She was raised and educated there, graduated from Des Lacs High School in 1947 and attended Minot Business College for two years.

Faye became a dental assistant for Drs. Nedrud and Riley in 1950 and worked in that capacity until 1957. Faye married Richard “Dick” Sharp on July 14, 1954 in Minot. They made their home in Glenburn before moving back to Minot in 1956 where they raised their four children. Richard passed away on March 25, 2010.

Faye was a longtime member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Minot where she was involved in Ruth Circle, Church Council, and served as a deacon. She loved God and Jesus and attending church. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 118:24, “This is the day the Lord has made, we will rejoice and be glad in it.” Faye especially enjoyed taking care of her family, crocheting, reading, watching hockey and the Minnesota Twins with Dick, and raising her children.

Faye is survived by her children: Robert Sharp, Park River; James (Lorrie) Sharp, Canon City, CO; David Sharp, Bismarck; Paul (Claudia) Sharp, Jamestown; grandchildren: Nicholas, Jessica, Matthew, and Kristi (Scott) Kleven; great-grandchild: Kiarra; sister Freda Becker, LaClaire, IA; and many nieces and nephews.

Faye was preceded in death by her husband; parents; sister Lucille (Edwin) Dostert; sister Irma and baby brother Fred.

Visitation: Feb. 6th, from 3 to 5 p.m. in Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Interment: Fairview Cemetery, Glenburn, North Dakota

Memorials are preferred to Special Olympics or Cornerstone Presbyterian Church.
