Eva A. Lamoureux Goodman

Eva A Lamoureux Goodman, 95, formerly of Minot, ND died peacefully Tuesday, January 23, 2024 at Edgewood in Fargo. She was surrounded by her children and family who recalled a life well lived.

Eva was born on June 16, 1928 in Newburg, ND, the youngest daughter of Joseph and Celina Lamoureux. She attended school in Newburg and graduated from Newburg High School.

Eva married Fredrick Allen Goodman from Upham, ND on June 13, 1949 at St. Leo’s Catholic Church in Minot. After their marriage Eva lived in Granville, ND, Stanton, ND, Glenham, SD, Sherwood, ND, Kensal, ND and Selfridge, ND. After Fred’s retirement as Superintendent of Schools they moved to Minot, ND. She then moved to Edgewood of Fargo in June 2021 to be closer to her daughter.

Eva was wife and mother of 5 children, yet over the years she belonged and volunteered to many organizations. Eva belonged to Homemakers, Catholic Church Women’s groups, and 4H organizations where she served as President, Secretary, leaders and an active volunteer of these groups. She volunteered with the St. Joseph Hospital and Trinity Hospital. Eva was a member of the Icelandic Heritage Society for over 30 years. Where Eva was a Docent and volunteered at the Scandinavian Heritage Association Bookstore, organizing their Bookstore booth for the Norsk Hostfest. Eva was also one of the volunteers cooking and serving Icelandic ethnic treats in the Icelandic Booth at the Norsk Hostfest. She was a salesperson for Tupperware and Avon for many years. Eva enjoyed crocheting, sewing, collecting dolls, bowling, working crossword puzzles, gardening and canning the produce.

Eva was survived by her children: Bonnie Johnson, St. Petersburg, FL, Richard (Daryce VanHoff ) Goodman, Grants Pass, OR, Mary Goodman, Fargo, ND, Dale (Karin) Goodman, Sarona, WI, Micheal (Ginger) Goodman, Cary, NC; grandchildren, Kathy (Jim) Lund, Christina Johnson-Brown and Jacquilynn (JD Connolly) Johnson, Jennifer (Shane) Cossette and Tracy Goodman, Matthew (Sara) Goodman, Christopher (Margo) Goodman and Katelyn (Justin) Paz, Sarah (Juan) Drake, Stacy (Adam) Crain, Brittany (Miso) Tomic, Kristie (Adam) Schessel and Michael Goodman; great-grandchildren, Jasmine (Jakob) Krohl, Tyler (Jessica Balardinelli) Brown, and Quinten Brown, Stephanie (Tyler) Venjohn, Brandon Cossette, Khloe Cossette and Zoey Cossette, Wesley Nephew, Cambry Goodman, Gwen Goodman and Thea Goodman, Barrett Paz and Emerson Paz, Reyna Drake, Juan Carlos Drake, Isabel Drake and Luisa Drake, Ana Tomic and Eva Tomic; great-great-granddaughter, Yareni Belardinelli; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Eva also had a close relationship with Daryce VanHoff’s children, Audra (Brad) Myerchin and their kids Meredith, Eleanor and Audrey, Melissa (Justin) Deisch and their child Van.

Eva was preceded in death by her husband, Fredrick; infant son, Patrick; her parents; infant sister and brother; brothers, Ernest, Joe, Lawrence, and Vincent; and sisters, Cecelia Skagen, Mary Ann Doucette, Celina Sherman, Alice Hunter, Irene Deschamp, Helen Benson, Jeanette Register.

Mass of Christian Burial: Thursday, February 8, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: Friday, February 9 at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Bismarck, ND.

Visitation: Wednesday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service: Wednesday at 6 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials: are preferred to North Dakota Veteran Cemetery, Mandan ND and Scandinavian Heritage Association.
