Miriam Lynnes, age 77 of Bottineau, passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at a Bottineau hospital. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at 10:00 am at the Grace Lutheran Brethren Church in Bottineau. Visitation will be on Friday starting at 1:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:00 pm at the Nero Funeral Home in Bottineau.

Miriam Lynnes, a daughter of Ervin Sr and Sarah (Miller) Helmuth, was born on December 23, 1946 at Rugby. She was raised on the family farm. She attended Wolford Public School where she graduated in 1965. She then went on to take a course in medical secretary. On September 30, 1967, she married David Lynnes at Rolette. Together they had three children, John, Mary Jo and Rachel. Miriam had a daycare in her home and also worked as a custodian for MTI in Bottineau for 20 years. She also did the bookwork for the family business for 39 years.

One of Miriam’s greatest joys was raising her children and she loved being a grandmother. She was an avid reader, enjoyed sewing quilt tops and was a part of the Grace Lutheran quilters group. She enjoyed baking with her grandchildren making lefse, cookies and popcorn balls. She was a prayer warrior for many. Miriam loved the Lord and longed for her home in heaven.

Mirian is survived by her husband, David of Bottineau; son, John (JaLee) Lynnes of Bottineau; daughters, Mary Jo (Dan) Jahner of Bottineau and Rachel (Boomer) Patterson of Minot; grandchildren, Garrett Lynnes of Williston, Mason Lynnes of Bottineau, Jocelyn Jahner of Bottineau, Chelsey Jahner of Valley City, Lily Patterson of Minot and Colby Patterson of Minot; brothers, Ervin Jr (Ruth) Helmuth of Mylo, Sandy Helmuth of Columbus, MT, Virgil Helmuth of Wolford, Herschel (Tammy) Helmuth of Glendive, MT; sister, Avis Helmuth of Dublin, OH and numerous nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Miriam was preceded in death her parents, sisters, Esther Porter and Carol Austin; brothers-in-law, David Porter and Loren Austin; sister-in-law, Sheryl Helmuth; nieces, Michelle and Audrea Helmuth; great-niece, Korenna Helmuth and great-granddaughter, Macie Lynnes.
