Gail Benjamin
April 5, 1954-Jan. 1, 2024
Minot
Gail Benjamin, 69, Minot, ND, passed away Monday, January 1, 2024, at a Minot Hospital surrounded by numerous family members.
Gail was born on April 5, 1954, the daughter of Donald and Audrey (Johnson) Kinzell. She was raised and educated in Granville where she graduated from Granville High School.
Gail married Kenny Benjamin in Minot on September 8, 1972. She was a country girl that went city and never wanted to go back. They made their home in Minot where they raised two sons, Scott and Jeremy. Gail worked the Minot Eye, Ears, and Throat Clinic, Minot Infusion Services, and Haugen Farm Reality before retiring at Market Pharmacy. She was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school.
Gail loved going to the lake, where she enjoyed fishing, pontoon and long boat rides. She enjoyed gardening (she was really good at killing her indoor plants), painting, writing, cooking big family meals, and taking trips. Gail’s favorite activity was spending time with her grandkids and having them over for sleepovers gave her the biggest smile. She loved to attend all of their sporting events.
Gail was a one of a kind person who lit up the room. She saw the best in everyone. She was always taking care of everyone else. Even when she was sick, she was worried about the needs of others before her own. She was a mom and grandma to everyone. She had an incredible sense of hospitality and always made sure everyone was full.
Gail’s loving family includes her husband of 51 years, Ken; sons, Scott (Sharon) and Jeremy (Angela) Benjamin; grandchildren, Daylen, Taylor, Tayson, Mikkel, and Brextin; father, Donald Kinzell; sisters, Donna (Richard) Lundy, Lori (Rick) Swallers; and the numerous great-nieces and nephews she treated like her own grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Audrey Kinzell; brother, Gary Kinzell; sisters, Gloria Kinzell and Diane Strachen; nephew, Donald Lundy; an infant brother, Donald; paternal grandparents, Roy and Mimmie Kinzell; and maternal grandparents, Conrad and Mirian Johnson.
