Pearl Dalene Walz, 74, Fargo, Formerly of Minot, died Sunday, December 24, 2023, in a Minot Hospital.

Dalene was born May 5, 1949, at Montpelier, Idaho, the 3rd of 5 children to David and Florence (McCann) Kiddy. She was raised in Idaho, Wyoming, and Utah and graduated from North Summit High School in Coalville, Utah, in 1968.

Dalene was once married to Levi Dunn. They were blessed with 4 children. She moved to Minot in 1978 and was employed as a CNA at Trinity Nursing Home until her retirement due to injury in 2015. She then worked for Prairie Rose Home Health until October of 2022. She loved working with the elderly population.

Dalene was united in marriage to Leonard George Walz, Jr., on February 21st, 1988. They made their home in Minot until 2000, when they moved to Newburg. Leonard died on July 11, 2013. She then returned to Minot to live until moving to Fargo in 2022.

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed spending time with her family, along with camping and being outdoors. She was very adventurous and had even gone zip lining in the past. She loved being with her grandchildren. She could be very stubborn but loved everyone she met and loved to share stories with all she came across. She was the “glue that kept the family together.” She will be dearly missed by her loved ones.

Her loving family includes, children: Teresa (Donald) Scott, Sherwood, Christopher (Stephanie) Dunn of Minot, Charles Dunn of Fargo, Thomas Dunn of Fargo; 14 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; step-son, Jeffrey (DeAnn) Walz of Aberdeen, SD; sister, Lillian (Mike) Pace, Colaville, UT; Brother-in laws, Thomas (Connie) Walz, Nevis, MN, Randall (Sue) Walz Ellsworth, MN, and Rudy Walz Kirkwood, MO; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dalene was preceded in death by: her parents; her mother and father-in-law; husband, Leonard; step-daughter, Kimberly McCann and her siblings, David Kiddy, Annette Mair, and Arthur Kiddy; Brother-in-law, Robert Mair.

Service Details: A Graveside service will take place on Friday, January 5, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, where Dalene will be laid to rest with her husband.
