JoAnne M. Behrens, 74, Surrey, ND, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023 in a Minot assisted living center.

JoAnne Marie Gregerson was born on September 24, 1949, a daughter of James and Martha (Mjolhus) Gregerson in Minot, ND. She attended school in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1967. She furthered her education by attending the North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, ND, graduating in 1974 as a Licensed Nurse.

On Nov. 18, 1977, JoAnne was united in marriage to Harry Behrens. They made their home in rural Surrey, ND, where they farmed. In addition to assisting Harry, JoAnne worked as a nurse. They were married 28.5 years before he passed on March 27, 2006. Following his death, JoAnne continued to live on the farm and work as a nurse.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James H. and Martha Gregerson; brother, Gordon Gregerson; and her husband, Harry Behrens; sister, Beverly Helstedt (Gregerson); brother-in-law, Warren Helstedt.

She is survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

As per JoAnne’s wish, there will be no book signing, visitation, or funeral

Cremation has taken place and burial will be at a later date in the spring of 2024.
