Denise Kallestad, 66, Minot, ND, passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2023, in her home.

Denise Kay Widmayer was born October 2, 1957, the daughter of Vernon and Mary Ann (Stokke) in Minot, ND. She was raised on the family farm in rural Minot. She was educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1975. After graduation she furthered her education at Minot State University and North Dakota State University.

She was once married to Rod Kallestad. Denise held multiple cooking jobs, working at the Speedway for 13 years.

Denise loved going to the lake, camping, and sitting around the campfire with family and friends enjoying a beverage. She was on a bowling league for years with her friends, her sister, Diane, and her mother. She also played on a ladies softball league. She enjoyed watching tennis, gardening in the summer, cooking meals for her family, and attending the games of her great-niece and great-nephews.

Her loving family includes: sister, Diane Widmayer, Minot; niece, Amber (Branden) Stephenson and their children, Kambrya, Tayven, and Cashton, Minot.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Alan Widmayer.

Memorial Service: Monday, December 18, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Interment: will take place in the spring at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
