Wayne H. Taylor, 90, of Minot died Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Trinity Hospital in Minot.

Wayne was born on July 30, 1933, in Stanley to Franklin B. and Hattie L. (Hylland) Taylor. He grew up in Stanley ND as the eldest of two brothers, Bruce Taylor (Judy). He graduated from Stanley High School in 1951. He then proceeded on to college, graduating from Jamestown College in 1958.

From there he went on to teach High School from 1958 to 1970. He taught in Fortuna, Underwood, and Park River. While teaching in Underwood, he met Minnie D. Taylor (Zuck), and they were united in marriage on July 24, 1964.

Wayne and Minnie eventually settled in Minot in 1970 where they raised their four children, Larry D. Taylor (Deborah), Timothy W. Taylor (Sheri), Loretta A. Haase (Paul) and Barry H. Taylor (Amy). Wayne became a custodian at Nedrose Elementary School in 1977 and remained there until he retired in 2001.

In October of 2002 he lost his wife Minnie of 38 years. After his retirement and the passing of Minnie, Wayne filled his time with friends, family and doing many things to support his church, First Presbyterian Church of Minot, now known as Cornerstone Presbyterian Church. He served as an Elder, volunteered in the kitchen to help serve meals in the church’s “Community Supper” as well as any area he was able to help. Not only did this fill his time, but it created many lasting friendships for him.

Wayne is survived by his brother, four children, five grandchildren, Marissa Willits (Aaron), Billy T. Haase, Misha Himmerick (Dan), Zachary Taylor, and Keaton Taylor, and two great grandchildren, Cullen Willits, and Hattie Willits, as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Wayne was proceeded in death by his parents Franklin and Hattie Taylor, and his wife Minnie D. Taylor.
