George Frederick

Dec. 13, 1941-Nov. 10, 2023

Minot

George Philip Frederick, 81, Minot, entered his eternal home in heaven on Friday, November 10, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. His wife and children were faithfully by his side until his last breath. George was born on December 13, 1941, in Erie, PA to RD and Geraldine (Smith) Frederick. He spent his childhood in Clarendon, PA, and graduated from Warren High School, Warren PA in 1959. In a car with no brakes, George left Pennsylvania in 1962 for Minot, ND with only $38.00 in his pocket and a suitcase to attend Northwest Bible College. It was there that he met his “Angel” and love of his life, Donna Dockter. They were united in marriage on October 1, 1966, and made their home in Surrey and Minot. George worked for Yellow/Minot City Bus before his 35-year career at the Minot Post Office. After retirement, he kept himself busy by driving taxi, attending auctions, and taking coffee to his kids every week.

George was a selfless man who prioritized his faith and the needs of others, especially his family. He loved his family but his grandchildren meant everything to him. He loved to tell stories and was known for his quick wit and ability to tell a good joke. George was a passionate fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Minnesota Twins. Additionally, he was an avid baseball card collector, and listening to Southern gospel music brought him abundant joy. His favorite quartets were the Cathedrals, Statesmen, and Blackwood Brothers.

George is survived by: Donna, Wife of 57 years; Children: Ken (Melissa) Frederick of Burlington, Kathy (Robert) Crane of Minot, Kevin (Jana) Frederick of Minot; Grandchildren: Kalin and Kayla Crane, Makiah (Hart) Andes, and Karina and John Philip Frederick; Siblings: Clarence Frederick, Warren PA, Rufus (Gloria) Frederick, Clarendon, PA; Sandy (Tom) Vanderhoff, Jamestown NY, Debbie (Joe) Segovia, Coldspring TX; and special niece Carrie (Bill) Gardner of Clarendon, PA.
