Danny Schmidt, 62, Burlington, passed away Monday, November 13, 2023, at his home.

Danny was born September 23, 1961, the son of Carl Vernon and Lois Audrey (Hyatt) Schmidt, in Kenmare. He was raised and educated in Lansford and would attend college in Williston.

He would work for various companies and organizations throughout the years using his skills in various areas. Danny would work for Minot Public Schools, The Minot Housing Authority as the Mechanic Supervisor, State Fair as Maintenance Supervisor, NDDOT as an Equipment Operator, and Dan’s Service where he helped many people with his carpentry and home remodeling services.

Danny loved his family deeply and worked hard to provide a wonderful life for them. He especially loved his grandkids and enjoyed spending time with them.

He loved all of his pets he had over the years.

Danny enjoyed spending time in the outdoors. Some of his fondest activities were fishing, camping, and being outside doing yardwork.

His loving family includes: life partner, Mary Schmidt, Burlington;

children, Laura (Robert) Heinle, Willow Lake, SD, Elizabeth (Jason) Trainer, Terre Haute, IN;

grandchildren, Payton, Josiah, Asher, Isabell and Xzavier Heinle; Tucker and Jax Trainer;

brother, David (Susan Carlson) Schmidt, Grand Forks;

sister-in-law, Vicki Schmidt, Bismarck; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Danny was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Gary Schmidt.

Funeral: Friday, November 17, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Visitation: Friday from 10a.m. to 11 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
