Warren Gorden, 72, Minot and formerly of Wilton, died Tuesday, October 24, 2023 in his home.

Warren was born June 19, 1951, in Bismarck, ND to Ivan and Vera (Wilson) Gorden. He attended first grade in a country school in Ecklund Township of Burleigh County near Wilton and graduated with the Wilton High School Class of 1969. He attended Bismarck State College learning the HVAC trade.

Warren was united in marriage to Candace ‘Candy’ Duma on October 13, 1973 at First Presbyterian Church in Wilton. They lived first in Linton, ND while Warren worked for Linton Sheet Metal from 1971-1975, when they moved to Minot. He took a job with Lane Sheet Metal for eight years and later Western Sheet Metal for six more years. In 1989, he joined M & S Sheet Metal working for the next twenty-five years of his life until retiring in 2014 after 44 years of service. Warren was a union sheet metal worker for 39 years.

Candace passed away unexpectedly in 2012.

Warren was a member of Cornerstone Presbyterian Church in Minot. He also belonged to the Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (R.S.E.S.) and served as President of the Souris Chapter in Minot for two years.

He enjoyed time outdoors camping and boating with his wife and family. Hunting and fishing were also favorite pastimes away from work. He was a lifelong Green Bay Packer fan. Warren will be remembered for his deep love of family, strong faith, perseverance and ingenuity.

Warren is survived by his daughter Nicole (Kyle) Wolverton, Minot; grandsons, Kaden and Grayson Wolverton, Minot; brothers Darwin Gorden, Wilton and Grant (Penny) Gorden, Bismarck, ND along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Warren was preceded in death by his parents, wife Candace and sister-in-law Beverly Gorden.

Interment: Rosehill Cemetery, rural Wilton at a later date

Visitation: Wednesday, November 1, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Thomas Family Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials are preferred to Souris Valley Animal Shelter, National Rifle Association or Cornerstone Presbyterian Church.
