Patrick Limke

Minot
Patrick Limke, 84, Minot, died Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023 in his home.
Patrick David Limke was born on February 2, 1939, a son of David and Jean Marie (Guidinger) Limke in Sherwood, ND. He was raised on the Limke farm near Lansford, ND, along with his three brothers and two sisters. He graduated from Lansford High School in 1957. Pat furthered his education by attending Minot State University, graduating in 1962 with degrees in Chemistry and Physical Education.
Following college Pat taught in Walhalla, ND, for two years. He then taught in Munich, ND, for six years.
On May 26, 1965, Pat was united in marriage to Jacqueline Sidener. The couple moved to Minot in 1970, with Pat as a science teacher and assistant boys’ basketball coach at Bishop Ryan High School. After one year in the classroom, Pat was appointed as Bishop Ryan’s principal, and during that time he completed his Master’s degree in Administration through Northern State University. He served as Superintendent at Bishop Ryan until 1985.
Pat returned to his alma mater and spent five years as the Superintendent in Lansford before purchasing Northern Trophy and Engraving in 1990, a business that he owned and operated for 21 years. He spent several years hail adjusting and served as a football official for many Minot High, Minot State and other local games.
Pat enjoyed observing the lives of his five children, all graduates of Bishop Ryan. He enjoyed attending many sporting events especially those of children and grandchildren. Somehow, he managed to remain calm through most of those. His enthusiasm for sports carried on and paved the way for his family to follow their dreams and enjoy many accomplishments.
A day spent fishing, hunting, or doing anything near Lansford, Grano, Lake Darling or around the farm was a great day. He would exhibit his tremendous patience on the days he took his boys up there to fish and hunt. For some reason when he went with his brothers and friends in the exact same spots as he did with his boys he had way more success. We could never figure out why? He was a country boy at heart.
Pat has been an active member of the parish at St. Therese, Church of the Little Flower since 1970. Along with Pat and Jackie’s Catholic faith, Catholic education and Bishop Ryan Catholic School have always and will always be an important part of their lives.
