Lynden Eide

Lynden Mitchell Eide was born on November 23, 1951 to Mervill (Bud) and Donna (Gearey) Eide in Powers Lake, ND. His youth was spent as a “Country Kid” in Lindahl Township north of Tioga. Growing up with his brothers, Donavan, Kevin and sister, Kelly. Life on the farm was never boring, always an adventure around the corner. With Lynden usually leading the pack. Lynden had a good memory and enjoyed recalling the good ole days on the farm as a kid.

Lynden was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Tioga, ND. He attended school in Tioga, graduating from Tioga High School with the Class of 1969. Lynden joined the US Navy shortly after graduation serving on the USS Midway. Seeing the world and ultimately ending up in DaNang Vietnam and was Honorably Discharged from the Navy in 1973.

After coming back to Tioga, Lynden started his career in the North Dakota Oilfields. Which he continued until his retirement in 2015.

He moved to Minot and occasionally worked for Weslie Motors as a driver. He enjoyed yard work and the last few years maintained a big garden which he found relaxing.

Lynden liked to watch baseball, played Legion Baseball as a kid and was a loyal Minnesota Twins fan.

He was a member of the White Earth Valley Saddle Club, enjoyed riding horses and helping at their annual rodeos and trail rides.

Lynden passed away on Oct. 11, 2023 with his brother, Kevin and sister, Kelly at his side.

Preceding him in death are his parents, Mervill & Donna Eide; grandparents, Palmer and Elsie Skaar; grandfather, Roy Gearey and brother, Donavan Eide.

Surviving family members are, his sister, Kelly (Gene) Anderson of Tioga, ND; brother, Kevin (Julie) Eide of Williston, ND; sister-in-law, Shelly Eide; aunt, Delores Odegaard; uncle, Rober (Joyce) Eide; aunts, Lois Rhodes, Mary Fred, Joan Skaar, Pam Skaar, Sherry LeRohl; uncle, Brian Skaar and several nieces, nephews, cousins and a daughter, LeAnn Iverson.

In keeping with Lynden’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Monday, Oct. 16, 2023 at 1 PM in the Fulkerson Stevenson Funeral Home in Tioga, ND. Pastor Steve Anderson will officiate.
