Julie Dietrich
Nov. 24, 1956-Oct. 19, 2023
Minot
Julie Dietrich, 66, Minot, died Thursday, October 19, 2023, in a Grand Forks hospital, surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
Julie was born November 24, 1956, in Harvey, North Dakota to John and Norma (Flatlie) Dietrich. She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1976.
Julie spent her early years in the food industry in many different positions. She enjoyed making many different foods but excelled at making various pies. She loved attending the North Dakota State Fair and Sturgis Motorcycle Rallies. She loved being around people, caring for others, and Elvis Presley! Julie was kind to most, a little too trusting sometimes, independent and a bit strong willed. She was blessed with two children, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.
Julie worked for St. Joseph’s and later Trinity Hospital in the Environmental Services Department and at Walmart. She enjoyed the daily interactions with co-workers, visitors, and customers. Gardening was one of her favorite things and she was definitely blessed with a green thumb. She also had a soft spot for animals, especially her cats. She will be missed most by those who called her mom and grandma. Julie will be remembered always in the stories and memories we all have of her.
Julie is survived by her children Dan Maroney, Minot and Terri (Chad) Fenner, Minot; grandchildren Daniel Maroney III, Minot, Kristine (Levi) Goettle, Donnybrook, ND, Taylor (Lacey) Stenvold, Surrey, ND, Abigail Carlson, Minot, Essien Delker, Minot and Zachary Fenner, Kansas City, KS; great-grandchildren Mylee, Hadlee, Lillee, Paesley, Parker and Paislee; sisters Betty (Norman) Haux, Grand Forks, ND and LeeAnn Dietrich, North Carolina along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Julie was preceded by parents, special family friend Clarence Ryba, grandsons Michael and Nicholis Fenner and brother Jerry Dietrich.
