West Fargo

Jerry Moberg, 87, West Fargo and formerly of Mohall and Burlington, entered eternal rest on Thursday, September 28, 2023, surrounded by loving family in a West Fargo Hospital.

Jerry (Ellis Jerome) Moberg was born on August 15, 1936, in Minot, ND to Evelys (Reiquam) Moberg and Everett Moberg. He grew up in Mohall, ND, and graduated from Mohall High School. He worked on his dad’s farm from ten years old until he joined the Air Force. He was stationed in Japan and Great Falls, MT, and was honorably discharged May 17, 1962.

He worked in Great Falls until 1965 then he moved to New Town, ND and started working as a Standard Oil bulk agent. He met and then married Carol Brehm on February 6, 1966. They lived there until they bought a Coast to Coast store in Stanley, ND in 1969. In 1971, he began driving petroleum tankers for Northern Tank Line and later Cenex Transportation and retired in 1998. During their marriage they lived in Park City, MT, Columbus, ND, Tioga, ND and Burlington, ND. They moved to West Fargo, ND in the fall of 2018.

Jerry loved food, to cook and to eat! He enjoyed cooking for his family and also cooking at Our Redeemer’s for fund raisers. (Some will remember the roast beef, potatoes and gravy, coleslaw and candied carrots). His love of music prompted him to organize several churches to get together for a Concert of Choirs. One of the highlights of his life was listening to the joint choirs sing “How Great Thou Art”.

Jerry and Carol have three daughters: Marcia Moberg, West Fargo; Shawn (Steve) Lind, Fargo; and Jodi Moberg, Burlington. They have four grandchildren: McKenna Deardurff, Abigail Lind, Annika Deardurff, and Sophia Lind. He had four brothers: Michael (Susie), Daryl (Connie), and Emmet (Billie). Two sisters-in-law: Gloria (Bill) Hoff, and Joyce (Glenn) Wright, along with many nieces and nephews and their children.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Dennis.
