Gudny Larson, 104, rural Noonan, passed away Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at her home.

Her funeral service was conducted at 1 p.m., Monday, October 9, 2023, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Noonan with Pastor Janet Gwin officiating. Burial followed at Glenwood Cemetery, rural Crosby. A family service was Sunday, October 8, 2023, at Stakston-Martin Funeral Home, Crosby.

Gudny was born September 20, 1919, in Verdal, Nord Trondelag, Norway, the second of seven children born to John and Karen (Segtnan) Slaatsve. She was baptized and confirmed at the Stiklestad Church. She was raised at Gudmundhus, the family farm.

Gudny always thought she’d come to America where she had numerous cousins. In 1958, she met Erling Larson while he was visiting in Norway. The next year she arrived on the ship, Bergensfjord, in New York. After they were married on August 1, 1959, she became a farm wife and assisted with the everyday life on the farm, where she lived until her passing.

She is survived by daughter, Karen; son, Conrad; sister, Ruth Hermann; sister-in-law, Emma Slaatsve and 18 nieces and nephews.

Gudny was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brothers, Hans and Arne (Asbjorg); sisters, Jorid (Einar) Lund, Aase (Arvid) Mathisen and Kari (Ottar) Solberg; brother-in-law, Einar Hermann; sisters-in-law, Adelaide (Willie) Brodal and Gunda (Edward) Paul.
