Edwin “Duane” Olson, 86 of Rugby died peacefully with his wife of 64 years by his side on Thursday, October 5 in Harvey, North Dakota.

He was born on October 4th, 1937, to Edwin and Gladys (Toso) Olson on the family farm in Isabel Township, Benson County, North Dakota. He was united in marriage to Shirley Erickson.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley of Harvey; children, Virginia (Dan) Held of Harvey, Wanda Brossart of Rugby, Allan (Shannon) Olson of White River, SD, Brenda Olson of Rugby and Bob Olson of Dickinson.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 14 at First Lutheran Church in Rugby with burial in the Persilla Watts Cemetery, Rugby. Visitation will be Friday from 5-7 p.m. with a prayer service and sharing of memories beginning at 7 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby.
