Sherry Darling, 67, Minot, ND, passed away on Saturday, September 2, 2023, in a Minot hospital.

Sherry K. Kremer was born on April 24, 1956, a daughter of Ferdinand “Fred” and Mary Eva (Bachmeier) Kremer at Trinity Hospital in Minot, ND. She was raised in Burlington and attended Burlington elementary and Des Lacs High School.

Following school, Sherry was united in marriage to Craig Schalesky. The couple made their home in Westhope, where she worked at the Jack and Jill Grocery, Westhope school, and volunteered for the Westhope ambulance. The couple later divorced.

Sherry moved to Minot, where she became a licensed paramedic, and began a career with the Community Ambulance service of Minot. She excelled as a paramedic and became a training officer for all the new paramedics, a career she thoroughly enjoyed for 14 years.

On January 8, 1995, Sherry was united in marriage to Jerry Darling in Reno, NV. They made their home in Minot, where Sherry worked for MLT vacation where she earned many awards, including the Million Dollar Sales club on numerous occasions. She also worked as a medical coder.

Despite several health issues, Sherry was able to spend her retirement years continuing to help others. She was diagnosed with Celiac Disease, therefore became an expert cook/baker in gluten free recipes. She enjoyed gardening, embroidery, quilting, and playing pinochle with her grandchildren.

Sherry also enjoyed the outdoors, snow skiing, camping, boating and fishing (until her son and grandson caught all the fish and kept her freezer well stocked). She was also a life member of the VFW Auxiliary.

She is survived by: husband of 28 years, Jerry; children: Scott (Sherice) Schalesky, Shannah (Lloyd) Anderson; step-children: Jeanette “Gina” Darling, and Val (Joe) Cunningham; grandchildren: Nathaniel (Taylor) Fields, Joshua Schalesky, Andrew Schalesky, Austin Renaud, Zachery Renaud, Connor Hanson, Zachary Hanson, Zoey Hanson, Courtney (Dan) Baier; great-grandchildren: Wrenleigh and Haizlyn Fields, and Collins Marie Baier; siblings: Robert (Kelly) Kremer, Rodney (Cheryl) Kremer, Roger Kremer; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, and siblings Marlene (Jay) Jaderburg, Kasmer “Kash” Kremer, Laverne Kremer, Clifford Kremer, and a niece Ashley Kremer.

Visitation: Thursday, September 7, 2023, from 6:30-7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Vigil Prayer Service: Thursday at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Mass of Christian Burial: Friday, September 8, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. The Funeral Mass will be livestreamed and may be accessed at the link provided on Sherry’s web page at www.thompsonlarson.com.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

In Lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Hope Lodge Facility for Cancer patients at University of Minnesota, or the American Cancer Society.
