Minot
Dillan Dahlien, 31, Minot, ND, formerly of Kenmare, ND passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023, at a Minot hospital, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Dillan Jerome Dahlin was born on May 11, 1992, the oldest son of Jerome and Blenda (Overton) Dahlin in Bismarck, ND. He attended school in Kenmare until the 8th grade, then the family moved to Minot, ND where he graduated from Surrey High School in 2011. He furthered his education by attending Minot State University earning a degree in Business Management then Bismarck State College studying Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
Dillan projected his love for life in everything he did and toward everyone he knew. Throughout his years, Dillan worked various jobs that included working for Sodexo Dining Services, Market Place Food & Liquor, Cenex Tri-Energy, Souris River Designs, Praxair and most recently he was employed with Acme Tools of Minot as a Rental Coordinator for which he took great pride in. When he wasn’t at work, he would talk about how much he enjoyed the work that he did and the people he worked with.
In his spare time, Dillan very much enjoyed spending time with his loyal dog Bruno, writing music and film scripts, MN Viking football, hunting, fishing, bowling, kayaking and loved just visiting with others. Dillan was a very talented individual. He had various platforms where he could showcase his talents including a YouTube channel called “DJ Spinda” for which he enjoyed immensely, a film making production company with his brothers, Dusty and Dev, called Dahlhouse Pictures, along with a country/rock band that he started with his brothers, Dustin and Devon along with cousin, Sierra Overton called OVERLIEN. As the drummer of his band, Dillan kept the rhythm tight and for the rest of our lives, Dillan will be the drumbeat and the heartbeat that keeps us all going! He was kind of a big ‘Dill’. He was a child of God and we all loved him so very, very much and every single day, between Dillan, Dustin and Devon, the brotherly love could always be felt far and wide! He truly was a blessing beyond measure!
Dillan is survived by his parents, Jerome and Blenda Dahlin; his loving and devoted brothers, Dustin and Devon all of Minot; fiance, Abelein (Abby) Dunn of Elk River, MN; his adorable, loyal dog Bruno; maternal grandparents, Dennis and Alvina Overton of Kenmare; paternal grandparent, Marlene Dahlin of Butte; Brian and Marybeth Dunn of Elk River, MN; Nick Dunn, Anna Dunn and future little niece, Audrey Dunn all of Elk River, MN; aunts and uncles, Denton and Stacey Overton; Jeff and Mardell Dahlin, all of Kenmare; cousins, Sierra and Taden Overton all of Kenmare; Joslyn Braun and Rusty Dahlin both of Bismarck; special life-long family friend, Terry Duerre of Kenmare; many other aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and co-workers from every aspect of his life.
