Daryl Piquette, age 74 of Bottineau, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2023, at a Bottineau hospital. His memorial service will be held on Monday, September 18, 2023, at 1 p.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Bottineau.

Daryl Edward Piquette, a son of Ernest and Mabel (Tyler) Piquette, was born on July 12, 1949, in Minot. He was raised in Minot and graduated from Minot Model High School in 1967. On January 25, 1969, he married Cathy Collins in Minot. On January 20, 1970, he entered the US Army. He served in Vietnam and received his honorable discharge on September 23, 1971. They lived in Junction City, KS before moving back to Minot. In 1972, they moved to Surrey. Daryl began working at the Minot Air Force Base in 1973 and in 1977 they moved to Maxbass. Daryl retired from the Air Force Base in 2009 and a year later they moved to Bottineau.

Daryl was a member of the Bottineau County Veterans and was past commander of the Carl Woods AmVets Post 25. He loved working with wood and if he wasn’t building projects for his daughters, he was helping neighbors finish their projects. Daryl built their cabin at Lake Metigoshe and also worked on the new Veterans Building in Bottineau.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Cathy; daughters, Kristy (Chris) Helland of Grand Forks and Kari (Bill) Myers of Westhope; three grandchildren, Shyane (Cassidy) Genre of Towner, Brad (Lisa) Myers of New York and Ashley Myers of New York; and two sisters, Yvonne Peterson of Minot and Darla Kuntz of Arizona.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant son, Steven John Piquette.
