August H. Mueller, 76, Minot, died Thursday, September 21, 2023, in his home.

August H. Mueller was born on May 16, 1947, a son of Earl A. and Audrey J. (Gainsforth) Mueller in Jamestown, ND. He was raised and educated in Jamestown.

On August 21, 1965, August was united in marriage to Nancy Rick in Jamestown, ND. The couple resided in Jamestown and Gackle, ND before settling in Minot, ND in 1967. Auggie worked as a meat cutter for Red Owl Grocery Store, Piggly Wiggly, owned, and operated Prairie Meats and later worked for Nash Finch as a meat merchandiser. In 1994, Auggie opened his own grocery store “Auggies Family Foods” which together he and his family operated until 2000. Upon closure of the business, he returned to Meat cutting at Marketplace Foods until he retired.

He enjoyed playing golf at Apple Grove golf course, playing softball, tinkering in his garage, and fixing things. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren.

August is survived by:

Wife of 58 years, Nancy; Children: Mark Mueller, Mike Mueller, Lisa (Eric) Gayzur; four grandchildren: Makai, Mariah (Craig), Marie (Eric), Aubrey; great-grandchildren: Brennen, Charlie, Jaxon, Jeneeva, Ruby and Bronson; Siblings: Marvin Mueller, Morris Mueller, Peggy MIller, Shirley (Charles) Hollingsworth, Linda Randall, Ruby Stoller; Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

August was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Michael, and a brother Donald.

Visitation: There will be no reviewal as cremation has taken place, however, friends may sign a guest register on Monday, September 25, 2023 from 4 until 6 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorial Service: Tuesday, September 26, 2023 at 11am at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot. The service will be livestreamed and may be accessed at August’s web page at www.thompsonlarson.com

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
