Zachary Barnett, 28, Minot, passed away on Saturday, July 29, 2023, at his home surrounded by family and friends.

Zachary was born on February 1, 1995, in Minot to Richard and Melisa (Ide) Barnett. He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 2013. After school, Zachary began working for Lowe’s Garden Center in Minot and the Minot Park District. He also started attending college at Dakota College in Bottineau, where he would earn an associate’s degree in Horticulture. After college, Zachary began working for the City of Minot in the property maintenance department, at the MAYSA Arena, and at his own lawn mowing service.

Zachary loved being outdoors. He enjoyed buying and selling vehicles. At first, it was mopeds but then he moved on to old junk cars and trucks.

Zachary was a very hard working and positive individual. He fought through many health issues in his life, yet he never let them dampen his spirit. Zachary will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Zachary is survived by his father and mother, Richard and Melisa Barnett, both of Minot; brothers, Taylor and Jaxson Barnett and Kobe and Nick Agard; sister, Abbie Barnett; grandparents, Richard Barnett and Kristy Peterson; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Hank and Betty Anderson; his “Nan”, Joan Barnett; and his uncle, Paul Parmenter.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church in Minot. The service will be livestreamed for the public to view and can be accessed by going to First Lutheran Church website at https://www.flcminot.com. Burial will follow at Rosehill Memorial Park in Minot. Visitation will be on Friday, August 4 from 5-7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home in Minot.
