Richard Bruno Volk, 86, of Rugby died on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at Missouri Slope Nursing Home in Bismarck, North Dakota with his family by his side. He was born April 26, 1937, in Rugby, North Dakota to Christian and Christine (Keller) Volk. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1960 and was honorably discharged in 1962. Richard married Lois (Berg) in 1993. He is survived by his wife, Lois; daughter, Wanda (Joe) Hoffert; son, Troy (Cathy); stepsons, Jeff (Lisa), Jerry (Charity), Rick and Rob (Beverly); grandchildren, great-grandchildren and sister, Delores Isakson. Preceded in death by his wife, Marlene (1975); his first born, Baby Boy Volk.

Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, September 1 at Little Flower Catholic Church in Rugby with a full military honors burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday with a Rosary and Vigil prayer service beginning at 7 p.m. at the Anderson Funeral Home in Rugby. Visitation will continue on Friday from 9-10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
