Pamela Eckel, 64, Burlington, died Thursday, August 10, 2023, near Minot, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle/vehicle accident.

Pamela Joy Hellickson was born March 4, 1959, the daughter of Ervin and Palma (Isaacson) Hellickson, in Minot. She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1977.

Pam married Vernon Eckel, Jr., November 25, 1989, at Faith Family Church in Minot. They made their home in Minot and later Burlington, where they raised their two sons.

Pam worked at the Royal Fork for over 20 years until the restaurant closed. She then returned to working at Trinity for a total of about 10 years before she retired.

She became born again at the Church on the Rock in Rockwell, Texas, Easter Sunday many years ago. She was an active member of the Women of the Word Bible Study.

She was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association. She volunteered many years for the Musikk Butikk at Norsk Hostfest.

She enjoyed playing puzzle games, listening to music, and playing computer games. She loved to take pictures of her loved ones.

Her loving family includes: husband of 33 years, Vernon, Jr.; sons, Jacob Eckel, Burlington, and Joshua (Sara) Eckel, Minot; sisters, Elaine McKee, Kansas, Ardie (Dan) Hollowell, Texas, and Phyllis (Mike) Burckhard, Minot; grand dogs, Moose, Jasmine, Milo and Bella; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pamela was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Janice Kay Hellickson; brother-in-law, Barry McKee; and grand dogs, Cinch and Curly.

Funeral: Friday, August 18, 2023, at 11 a.m. at The Pursuit Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Memorials: In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials are preferred to the benefit account set up at Gate City Bank.
