Lori Nyre, 61, Minot, passed away Thursday, July 27, 2023, in her home.

Lori Ann Hendershot was born October 10, 1961, the daughter of James and Patsy (Johnson) Hendershot, in California, moving to Minot at the age of three. She was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1980.

She married Steven Nyre on June 18, 1982. They were blessed with two children, Josh and Makayla.

She attended Joseph’s School of Hair Design in Grand Forks, receiving a degree in cosmetology. Lori worked at Total Image until her second child was born when she became a stay at home mom. She also ran an in-home daycare for the neighborhood children until they started school.

Once Josh and Makayla started school, Lori worked for the family business, Magic City Gaming. Following the kids’ graduations, she went to work at Clinique Makeup and Boot Barn. In 2019, she became the manager of Vision Galleria, where she worked until her passing.

Lori enjoyed horseback riding. Her favorite way to spend her free time was with her granddaughter. Mila. They would go on walks, picking flowers along the way, or play Barbies and dolls at the horse shows between classes. It didn’t matter what Mila wanted to do, Lori would do it with her.

She was a member of St. John the Apostle Church, NDAQHA, and Minot Trail Riders.

Her loving family includes:

husband of 41 years, Steven, Minot; daughter, Makayla Nyre, Williston; grandchild, Mila DiCinno, Williston; mother-in-law, Teresa Nyre, Minneapolis, MN; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Bob and (Gloria) Nyre, Minneapolis, MN, Pam (Lee) Klosterman, Minot, Deb (Dale) Brewster, Bismarck, Judy (Dan) Stone, Minneapolis, MN, Toni (Berry) Basinger, Virginia; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Patsy Hendershot; son, Josh Nyre; father-in-law, Vern Nyre.

At Lori’s request, there will be no formal services.
