Jeanette Gates, 76, Minot and formerly of Donnybrook and Surrey died on Friday, August 4, 2023, in a Minot hospital with her family at her side.

Jeanette Ann was born on August 3, 1947, in Minot to Kenneth and Muriel (Olson) McIntosh. She was raised on a farm near Donnybrook and graduated from Donnybrook High School. Jeanette was married to Robert Blatnick and they were the parents of Robert, Deanna and Angela. They moved to Surrey in 1970 and later divorced. Jeanette married Lewis Gates on December 31, 1986, and they blended their families so Jacob, Tiffany and David became her children as well. They made their home in Minot where Jeanette worked in the beverage business for a number of years including managing Saturday’s and ending her career at Sidekick’s. Jeanette was devoted to her family and always put others’ needs before her own.

Jeanette was a member of St. Leo’s Catholic Church and was an animal lover who was especially fond of cats.

Jeanette’s loving family includes her husband of 36 years: Lewis; children: Robert, Deanna (Chad) Christensen, Angela (Manville) Sanderson, Jacob Gates, Tiffany (Jason) Zablotney and David (Paige) Gates; thirteen grandchildren; two great grandchildren; sister: Betty Myers and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents and sisters: Sheila McCabe and Elaine Cook.
