Myron Seney, 93, Minot, ND, passed away Monday, July 24, 2023, at Trinity Hospital.
Myron I. Seney was born February 10, 1930, son of Ira and Blondina (Holmes) Seney in Minot, ND. He was raised and educated at a rural school in the Minot area until the age of 10 when his family moved to Minot. He then joined Bethany Lutheran Church with his widowed mother and her family of seven children, where he sang in the choir.
While in high school Myron sang in the school choir. He graduated from Minot High School in 1948. Following graduation, he worked for area farmers and several Minot business companies. Myron served in the US Army. He proudly served his country during the Korean War. Following his time in the service he attended college at NDSC at Wahpeton, ND in Electronic Tech., class of 1956. Myron worked for RCA at the radar base near Minot. Then moved with the job to New Mexico. Later Myron was called to work for McFalls’ Radio Service in Minot.
In 1988 Myron married Doris Everson at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva, ND. Their first project together was to rebuild a rural home near Logan on the prairie hills. Myron and Doris traveled to many reunions at their colleges. They also enjoyed traveling by tour bus to Medora, ND, Black Hills, SD, Yellowstone Park, Glacier Park, MT, Kalispell, MT to see his cousins. They also traveled to central Montana to visit Doris’ cousins and sister’s family.
Myron worked for other TV service centers before joining a partner for his own business. He retired late in 2003. Myron and Doris enjoyed rural living until moving to Minot in the fall of 2006. Many hobbies interested Myron, such as gardening, music, art, and walking at his country place with his favorite neighbor dog, Laddie.
Myron’s wife wishes to thank everyone who has helped with his recent illness, especially doctors, nurses, and emergency help from Trinity hospital. When attending the service, please dress casually.
His loving family includes: his loving wife of 35 years, Doris; brother, Roy Seney, Doris’ sisters, Gladys and Eunice; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, five siblings, and many extended family members.
Funeral: Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at 1 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.
Interment: Stenkjaer Lutheran Cemetery, Simcoe, ND. Private burial.
Visitation: Monday from 4 to 6 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Memorials: In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials go to Bethany Lutheran Church, Ward County Historical Museum, local food pantries or animal rescues, or an organization of your choice.
