Christopher Russell, 42, Minot, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2023, at REM Home.

Christopher Lee Russell was born December 12, 1980, the son of Allen and Shirley (Thompson) Russell, in Minot. He was raised in Minot and was a sibling to three sisters and one brother.

In 1985, Christopher began his educational journey when he was enrolled in the Minot Preschool Program. Three years later, in 1988, he would continue his education by enrolling in the Bismarck Special Education Program. In 1992, he would become a student at Mandan Public School. The following year, in 1993, he received admission into Anne Carlsen School. While enrolled at Anne Carlsen School, he would occasionally go to his parent’s home on weekends and holidays to see his siblings.

On March 19, 2001, Christopher would go to his forever home with REM. It was here that he would develop outstanding friendships with his housemates. Christopher loved going on community outings, completing crafts, listening to music, doing sensory exercises, and playing cards or board games.

A couple of things that Christopher enjoyed the most were swimming and cooking class.

His loving family includes: sisters, Robin Russell, Minot, and Marsha (Kelsey Slauter) Russell, Minot; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Russell; sister, Treaba Hegle.

Funeral: Friday, July 28, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: One hour prior to the funeral service.

Memorials: are preferred to the Humane Society.
