Patricia Burtness was born on a farm east of Thief River Falls, MN on January 15, 1935, and died in her home in Tucson, AZ May 29, 2023. She was the eldest of three children born to Johnnie Nicolai Burtness and Leah Skibicki Burtness.

Patricia married Allen R. Larson, also of Thief River, in 1953. They raised five children: Kim (John) Baird. Michael, Francis, Lisa (Craig) Satterlee and Carrie.

The family moved to Minot in 1961. In 1980 she and Allen retired from their business, North Hill Foods, and moved to Tucson with their daughter Carrie.

Patsy was a quiet woman of great strength and integrity. She lost her mother when she was 15 and took over management of the household while still in high school. She made a career of bookkeeping, first for Gambles, later for Tempo and then for the family business ventures. People who worked with her in Minot remember her kindness and patience.

As our mother, she set high standards and good examples. We knew right from wrong, and we knew we were loved.

Patsy is survived by five children, eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Deanna Morgan, as well as half-sisters Rosalind Keefe and Wendy Phillip, and stepsister Sharon Hamre. She was preceded in death by her husband and her brother, Richard.

No funeral is planned.
