Leonard (Butch) Prom, 79, of Harvey died Thursday, June 15, 2023, at the St. Aloisius Hospital of Harvey. Funeral services will be held at the St. Cecilia Catholic Church of Harvey on Monday, June 26, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be on Sunday, June 25, from 3-5 p.m. followed by a Rosary and Prayer Service at 5 p.m. at the Hertz Funeral Home of Harvey. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Butch was born on September 12, 1943, in Harvey, ND. He was the son of Leonard Sr. and Alma (Engelhard) Prom. Butch attended the St. Cecilia Catholic School through the 8th grade. He then attended Harvey High School and graduated in 1961. Following high school, he attended one semester of college at Minot State University. He then returned to Harvey and farmed with his father. He also worked at the Harvey Ring Sale. Butch enjoyed farming, gardening, working with wood and working in his shop. Butch was a member of the St. Cecilia Catholic Church and the Catholic Order of Foresters both of Harvey.

Butch is survived by his sister, Vonnie Heilman of Harvey; 25 nieces and nephews; brother-in-law, Henry Zeroth; sister-in-law, Fran Prom.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Anna Mae and husband Ken Lamm, Annella and husband Del Schlenker, Lloyd Prom, Beverley and husband Leonard Vetter, Myra Zeroth, Art Prom; brother-in-law, Ed Heilman. Share online at www.hertzfuneralhomes.com.
