Kathryn Ellingson

Daytona Beach, Fla.

Kathryn Ann Ellingson (Skjervem) 62, passed away May 8, 2023, in Daytona Beach, Florida after a ten-month battle with cancer.

Kathryn was born July 25, 1960, to Marvin and Joyce Skjervem in Bottineau, ND. She was a cheerleader in high school and graduated from Bottineau High School in 1978 and received an associate degree. She was an excellent seamstress and liked to write poetry.

She moved to the northeast working in real estate and enjoyed running marathons with coworkers and friends. She later returned to Minot and continued her college education in psychology and met her future husband, Rick Ellingson.

Kathryn and Rick raised their children Danika and Conner in Bottineau and moved to Daytona Beach, Florida in the Fall of 2015. She loved walking on the beach, collecting seashells and working on crafts.

Danika passed away November 30, 2021, and Kathryn found out she had stage 4 cancer in July 2022.

She is survived by her husband, Rick; son, Conner; sisters, Jan, Marlene and brother, Michael. She was so happy to spend a week with Jan, Marlene and her nieces Chrissy and Yvonne a few months before her passing. She loved spending time with family.

Graveside Service: Friday, June 23, 2023, 1 p.m. at Oak Creek Cemetery followed by a gathering of family and friends to remember her at the Cobblestone Inn in Bottineau. Please dress casual.
