Judie Kelly, 78, Minot, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on December 21, 2022, following a short battle with Progressive Muscular Atrophy.
Judie was born on February 7th, 1944, to Henry and Josephine (Sue) Koehler. When Judie was six years old, her father died suddenly and her mother eventually married Charles Morrissey, who lovingly helped raise her as his own.
Judie graduated from Minot High School in 1962 and attended Minot Business College. One of her favorite jobs prior to meeting Gary was working for longtime Minot Chiropractor Dr. Vincent Pankratz. She was united in marriage with her loving husband of 52 years, Gary N. Kelly. Together, they made their life in Minot running their family business, N.J. Kelly Sales, and raising their three sons (Michael, Chad and Mark). Judie was an amazing mother and was always very involved with the many school, music and sports activities that her boys were involved in. She was a dedicated volunteer and contributor to the American Legion Baseball program and First Lutheran Church.
Judie loved spending time with her granddaughter Payton, listening to music, traveling, reading, going on road trips, her Cocker spaniel dogs and spending time with her family and friends.
Judie is survived by: her three sons, Mark, Chad (Traci), and Michael (Kathy); granddaughter, Payton; brother-in-law, Rodney Duke Charnholm of Greenbay, WI; nephews, Rich (Kathy) Lovejoy and their son, Scott (Melissa) Lovejoy and their children, Paige and Chase; Roddy Charnholm and Randy (Jaime) Charnholm and their sons, Tyler and Callum; and nieces, Sherry Sullivan and Sandy Stockdale.
Judie was preceded in death by her husband Gary Kelly; parents, Henry and Josephine (Sue) Koehler; and stepfather, Charles Morrissey; brother, Charles J. Lovejoy; sister-in-law, Gayle Charnholm of Greenbay, WI; several uncles, aunts and cousins including uncle, Walter Rabsky; aunt, Gertrude Huber; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norbert and Marcella Kelly.
Memorials are preferred to First Lutheran Church or to the American Legion Baseball program.
Memorial Service: Friday, June 23, 2023, at 11 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
