Darlene Ann Erickson was born February 9, 1943, in Minot North Dakota to Nelfred and Gladys Erickson. Darlene was raised in Carpio, North Dakota, where she graduated from Carpio High School in 1961. She married John Solem, Carpio, with whom they had 2 kids, Scott (Cora) Solem – Berthoud Colorado and Kelly (Rick) Lawson – Greeley Colorado.

Darlene moved to Colorado in 1995 to be closer to her kids. Over her career, Darlene worked in manufacturing and retail. Upon her retirement she spent time enjoying the company of her grand kids and great grand kids. She loved to watch and share in each of their accomplishments.

Darlene is remembered by her family for being loving, selfless, outgoing, and tenacious. Darlene passed away in Loveland, Colorado after a brief illness. Her family will deeply miss her. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
