Cyril C. Gustafson, 94, Minot, formerly of Blaisdell, passed away Monday, June 5, 2023, at Trinity Hospital.

Cyril Charles Gustafson was born September 17, 1928, the son of Elmer and Barbara (Goettle) Gustafson, on the farm north of Blaisdell. He was raised and educated in Blaisdell through the 8th grade; he then went to work on the family farm after his dad passed away. He raised a large variety of farm animals.

Cyril married Rose Mary Stock in September 1957. They made their home on the family farm North of Blaisdell, ND. They were blessed with six children. His greatest joy was being a father, a grandfather, and a great-grandfather. He was a great provider for his family.

He was a jack of all trades, working in a variety of fields. He worked as a farmer, in the oil fields, television repairs, carpentry, and a rock crusher.

Cyril was a dedicated, hardworking man. He was the most honest man you could meet. He was incredibly giving of his time. He was always willing to help neighbors and friends with their farming.

Rose Mary passed away August 1, 2012.

He was a member of St. Margaret’s Catholic Church, Blaisdell and later Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Stanley. He served on the township board as treasurer in Redmond Township. He also served as a school board member in Palermo.

Cyril enjoyed fishing, hunting, and trapping. He was a gifted musician who played guitar, violin, and other musical instruments in local bands. He liked to dance, sing, and write songs to share with others. He enjoyed tending his garden, working on word puzzles, and playing slot games.

His loving family includes children, Randy Gustafson, Manchester, NH, Mike Gustafson, Minot, Teresa Greeman, Deering, Carol Linthurst, Minot, Allie (Chad) Mayes, Ankeny, IA; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Angie Gustafson, Stanley; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Barbara Gustafson; wife, Rose Mary, who passed away August 1, 2012; daughter, Julie Turcotte; son-in-law, Steve Greeman; brother, Lester Gustafson; sisters, Lillian Neether, Violet Vettle, and Vivian Lagien.

Mass of Christian Burial: Wednesday, June 14, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, Minot.

Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Visitation: Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Vigil Prayer Service: Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
