Alan Widmayer, 58, Minot, ND, passed away Monday, June 19, 2023, in his sister’s home.
Alan was born September 24, 1964, the son of Vernon and Mary Ann (Stokke) Widmayer, in Minot. He was raised and educated in Minot, graduating from Minot High School in 1982. He received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Minot State University. He attended Sam Houston State for his master’s degree in criminal justice. He then furthered his study in sociology at the University of Delaware.
After returning to Minot, he taught criminal justice and sociology at Minot State University. He then worked at Menards and Home Depot.
Alan was once married to Brenda Ehlke. They were blessed with one child, Amber.
He was an avid pool player who successfully competed in many tournaments and leagues. He enjoyed the outdoors and liked fishing, camping, and golfing. He liked spending time with family and watching his grandchildren participate in sports and academic competitions.
His loving family includes: daughter, Amber (Branden) Stephenson, Minot; grandchildren, Kambrya, Tayven, and Cashton Stephenson, Minot; sisters, Denise Kallestad, Minot, and Diane Widmayer, Minot. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial Service: Thursday, June 22, 2023, at 1:30 p.m.at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel.
Interment: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
