Larry Leidholm, 82, Minot, ND, formerly of Washburn, ND passed away Wednesday, May 17, 2023, at Trinity Hospital, Minot, ND.

Larry was born February 9, 1941, the son of Floyd and Rita (Corkery) Leidholm, in Washburn. He was raised and educated in Washburn and worked on the family farm. Larry graduated from Washburn High School.

He enlisted in the United States Navy on October 22, 1941. Larry was stationed at the U.S. Naval Station in San Francisco, CA. This is where he met his future wife, Nancy Nurss. To this union they had 2 children, Laura and Lance. The couple later divorced. He was honorably discharged on October 21, 1969.

Following his discharge Lance worked as a postmaster for the Minot Post Office until retirement.

Larry enjoyed golfing, bowling, and playing bingo. He was also an avid sports fan, especially to the Green Bay Packers.

His loving family includes children, Laura Leidholm and Lance Leidholm; three grandchildren, Kerstin Thatcher, Regan and Payton Leidholm; brother, Ronald Leidholm; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Fay Whitecotton.

Funeral Mass: Monday, May 22, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Edwin’s Catholic Church, Washburn, ND.

Interment: ND Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
